Draughts London

Date Night with a Difference

Most date nights in London follow the same script. Restaurant, awkward silences between courses, a film where you sit in the dark for two hours, home. A date at Draughts is nothing like that. You get a table, a drink in your hand, a game between you, and a reason to actually talk to each other all evening.

We’ve got over 1,000 games across our Waterloo and Stratford venues, and our staff will match you with the perfect two-player game in about thirty seconds. Whether you want something quick and competitive, strategic and absorbing, or genuinely funny, there’s a game that fits. Plus a full kitchen running food made for sharing, and cocktails worth sticking around for.

The best date nights keep you in the moment. That’s exactly what a board game does.

What's on the Menu

We’re not a grab-and-go counter. You get a table, you order properly, and you get drinks brought to you.

The kitchen runs a full menu built for sharing – loaded nachos, double smashed burgers, Korean fried chicken, birria tacos, halloumi fries, and sharers designed for exactly this kind of evening. Cocktail pitchers start at £25.95 for the table. Espresso martinis are practically mandatory.

The Games to Pick on a Date

Not sure where to start? Our staff will sort you out, but here’s a head start. For something competitive and clever, 7 Wonders Duel is outstanding – a civilisation-building game that plays in 30 minutes and teaches you a lot about how someone thinks.

Fog of Love is a two-player romantic comedy in a box that generates conversations you’d never have over dinner.

Patchwork is quieter and strategic – spatial, satisfying and impossible to play just once.

Jaipur is fast and sharp, a trading game with genuine push-your-luck excitement.

Half an hour around a game table tells you more about someone than three dinners ever could. No phones, no performance – just two people properly in the moment together.

Sign-off line: Book ahead. Evenings fill up fast.
